Create an Engaging Art Program by Unifying New
Acquisitions with Existing Works
As one of the longest established art consulting firms in the world,
Art Advisory Services has a special perspective on how to expand, reposition
or simply refresh an existing collection. Corporate clients and private
collectors look to us for art programs of lasting value and beauty.
Recently,
many clients have asked us for ways to breathe new life into works they
already own. We find that, through creative redeployment of existing
pieces - often with new framing - or in combination with new acquisitions,
a highly-effective end result can be achieved at reasonable cost. We
are recognized for our ability to find the best examples by contemporary
artists, and exceptional works of the 19th and 20th century.
A Stragety to Achieve Maximum Results
Assessment and Appraisal
A first step in every consultation is to analyze the client's goals:
budgets, interior characteristics, and aesthetic guidelines. Existing
collections are inventoried, assessed and appraised for insurance purposes.
We highlight the strong pieces in an existing collection and determine
the need for need acquisitions, deaccessions and creative installations.
Acquisition Strategy
Our experience, knowledge and expertise give us the ability to meet the
requirements of budget, image and taste. By developing a conceptual
plan at the beginning of a project, we provide the tools to help
our clients define the quantity and quality criteria for new purchases.
These tools also relate to the placement of existing holdings.
Installation
We place particular importance on scale and the relationship between the
collection and the character of the interior architecture. Through skillful
placement, format and framing, grouping, and thematic concepts, a collection
is given its unique presence. Our detailed location plans are coordinated
with the project architects, interior designers and client. We handle all
the framing needs for new acquisitions as well as reframing suggestions
for existing works.
Collection Management
Besides the issue of time savings and cost efficiency, our collection
management program provides clients with a database catalogue of
holdings, guidelines for care and maintenance, and ongoing recommendations
for deaccession and new acquisitions.
